  • Clevedon Music Club March Concert

    Clevedon Music Club will welcome back international concert pianist Béla Hartmann on Tuesday 17th March, with a programme to include Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue and Beethoven’s Sonata in A, Op. 101, as well as Liszt’s rarely heard transcription of Beethoven’s Song Cycle “An die ferne Geliebte”.

    The concert starts at 7.30 pm in the Teignmouth Room at Clevedon Community Centre, Princes Road BS21 7SZ. This promises to be a sparkling evening. Admission costs £10 at the door for non-members. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 01275 875262.

  • Clevedon Jumble Sale

    A jumble sale will be held at St. John’s Church Hall on Hillside Road (just up from the Curzon cinema) on Saturday 7th March at 2.15pm. Saleable goods will be gratefully received at the hall on the morning of the sale or ring 01275 872351 for collection.

    The money raised helps the work of the Church in the community through charitable donations, as well as maintenance of buildings etc., so come along and pick up a bargain or two and help them keep up the good work!

  • 2020 Spring Flower Show

    2020 Spring Flower Show

    Clevedon Gardeners Club 62nd Spring Flower Show will be held on Saturday 29th February from 1pm – 4.15pm. The show will be held in Princes Hall, Clevedon Community Centre, Princes Road, Clevedon, BS21 7SZ.

    There are 83 different classes (Plant, Photography, Craft Cookery, Children and Young adult) open to adults and children. There will be stalls with sale of plants, books, cakes and bric-a-brac. There will also be a tombola and refreshments with homemade cake.

    Admission is £1 (including free entry to hamper draw). Accompanied children under 16 free. Presentation of Awards 4pm.

    Schedule of show classes and entry forms are available from Community Centre, Veg Box, Spinning Weal in Clevedon and Garden Park Garden Centre, Tickenham and Brackenwood Garden Centre, Abbots Leigh or from www.clevedongardeners.btck.co.uk.     Woodspring U3A February Speaker

    On Tuesday 25th February at 2.15pm, the Woodspring U3A will hold their monthly meeting at the Methodist Church, Silver Street, Nailsea.

    The speaker at the meeting will be Terry Merrett-Smith and his topic is “Anything Goes”. It will be an exploration of Cole Porter through music, speech and visuals. Non-members are welcome for £1. Hot drinks are available before the talk, bring your own mug.

The concert starts at 7.30 pm in the Teignmouth Room at Clevedon Community Centre, Princes Road BS21 7SZ. This promises to be a sparkling evening. Admission costs £10 at the door for non-members.   • Cinderella Comes to Clevedon

    Clevedon Music Club

    The Spring concerts begin on Tuesday 21st January in the Teignmouth Room at the Community Centre, Princes Road, BS21 7SZ, from 7.30pm. This first concert will be a recital of music by Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Schumann and others performed by London-based local oboist Lavinia Redman. Lavinia is a former woodwind category finalist in BBC Young Musician of the Year, former member of the National Youth Orchestra, Barbirolli International Oboe Competition finalist in 2017, and Royal Academy of Music graduate. The evening promises to be a great show of musical talent.

    The monthly series continues on Tuesdays with concerts by Diploma level students of university singing teacher, Angela Hickey, in February. A piano recital including music by Bach and Beethoven given by Bela Hartmann will take place in March, and in April there will be a performance by The Celli Peppers following the AGM.

    A subscription of £32 gives free admission to all four concerts, otherwise admission to any individual concert costs £10 at the door. For more information get in contact or look out for posters.

  • Clevedon’s St Nicholas Fayre 2019

    This year, Clevedon’s annual Christmas Fayre is bigger and better than ever.

    Organiser Sam Harrison is celebrating his 5th St Nicholas Fayre, with popular stalls returning from previous years and some great new entertainment, this St Nicholas Fayre promises to be a fantastic event for all the family.

    From 5-9pm on December 5th, Hill Road will become a festive haven, full of stalls, seasonal musical entertainment and fairground rides. Shops on Hill Road and adjacent Alexander Road will stay open until 9pm, making it the perfect chance to get unique Christmas presents for your loved ones.

    Santa will be attending the Fayre and he has asked the Children of Clevedon to write him a letter and deliver it to him on the night and he will sure to reply before Christmas. Additional entertainment for children includes Steve Apelt Productions and his friend Zig-Zag coming along to meet everyone. We are excited to announce that Elsa, Anna and Olaf will be joining us and we are going to be raffling off a giant Olaf for a £1 a ticket.

    Market stalls offer all sorts of food, including a hog roast and Pizza cooked over a real log fire, unique gifts such as personalised glass keepsakes, and local charity groups like the Marlens. There will even be owls for you to hold thanks to the Avon Owls.

    Clevedon Music Club’s concert will take place on Tuesday 10th December at 7.30pm at the Clevedon Community Centre. It promises to be a fascinating presentation in music and words by flautist, Nicola Woodward, with her unique and highly acclaimed evening entitled ‘Winds of Change’. The concert is a journey through several centuries, from bamboo and other early flutes through to the modern flute and piccolo, demonstrated through music by Telemann, Bach, Debussy with orchestral excerpts and folk improvisations. Admission for visitors costs £10, including seasonal refreshments.

  • Clevedon Christmas Fair 2019

    The Clevedon Flower show committee are pleased to announce they will be hosting a Christmas Fair on Saturday 23rd November at Princes Hall from 10am to 3pm. There will be a brass band, posset singers, over 30 stalls ranging from jewellery, fabrics, wooden crafts and food and drink. There will be story time for the little ones with a special guest in a red suit and a Flower Show with Christmas raffles.
